THANKS TO ALL THAT CAME OUT THIS MORNING FOR THE INFORMATIONAL PICKET IN FRONT OF 2315 SALEM RD IN CONYERS! YOUR EFFORTS DO NOT GO UNNOTICED BY THE COMPANY!!

Unfortunately, due to the company’s lack of authority at the bargaining table, there is no progress to report.  Union membership gives us strength in numbers.  We all rely upon one another.  The basic right to form and join a Union gives us more power than if we tried to negotiate as individuals.  Please make sure that your Local has all of your most up to date contact information.

There is very little progress to report on with contract negotiations. Our bargaining team sent a clear message to the company, outlining what it will take to reach an agreement. Today, District 3 Vice-President, Richard Honeycutt met with the company’s leadership and emphasized the bargaining team’s position on the important issues. The company’s leadership requested time to consider the Union’s demands.

For almost two months we have attempted to negotiate with the company.  We have entertained numerous company proposals with great trepidation.  In good faith, we expected the company to bargain with us over our proposals.  But, unlike recent rounds of bargaining, the company refuses to give any genuine consideration to our demands. The company expects us to make recessions on job security, seniority, and benefits, while offering us modifications of our proposals that do not address our concerns.

Today at the common interest table, the bargaining team presented the company counter proposals on benefits and wages. The team also met at the main table and presented the company a package, which they seemed elated to receive.  We are patiently awaiting their response, with the expectation they accept our admirable package. Be prepared and maintain communication with your local.

Thanks to Local 3803 for lunch, and the Florida staff and secretaries for the gift.

Our bargaining team has been working hard to reach a tentative agreement and settle contract negotiations.  At one time, it seemed that AT&T also wanted to reach an agreement.  Unfortunately, AT&T's antics over the last two days have sent a clear message that the company has little interest in reaching a timely agreement with CWA that will improve the standard of living for our members.

Your bargaining team is continuing to narrow the gap on work rules, through package bargaining and tough negotiations. The team still has some major hurdles to overcome on wages and benefits.  The company continues to use 'funny' math when costing our requests.  As we work without a contract, remember to work to the rule. Be prepared.
